Ostrich Steak w. Mushroom Sauce & Potato Bake (13pp)






You will need: 


Serves 2

2 x Ostrich Steaks (8pp)

For the Potato Bake: 
50g WW Double thick cream (2pp) 
150ml Skimmed Milk
260g Potatoes (6pp)
30g Light Cheddar (2pp)

For the Sauce:

1 Onion (0pp)
125g Mushrooms
125ml White wine
100g WW Cream (4pp)
2 teaspoons Wholegrain mustard (0pp)

26 in total divided into 2 servings = 13pp 



Slice the potatoes thinly and layer in large ramekins 


Mix the skim milk & 50g WW cream, cover the potatoes with cream. Top with the cheese and cover with foil.

Put in the oven at 220 degrees C for 45 minutes.


Chop the onions 


Fry the onions in fry lite, add garlic. Set aside


Fry the Ostrich Steak 


4 Minutes per side


Once the ostrich is cooked, remove from the frying pan and place on a plate. Cover with foil for it to rest.


Chop the mushrooms


Using the same pan as you did for the ostrich, deglaze the pan by adding the white wine. Fry the mushrooms.


Add the mustard.


Add the cream & then add the cooked onions. let this simmer for 5 minutes.


 Get the Potato bake out the over (check it's ready)


To serve, top with parsley
